Bible Friday 12/22: The Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 40:1-17. Verse 3, what's one carol, hymn, or praise song I can dwell on today to multiply joy, reduce stress, and focus on Jesus, the reason for the season?

Micah 2:1-13. Verses 2 and 9, am I really alert to widespread covetousness, oppression, wrongs against women and children? Do Christian compassion and ethics guide my political views?

Revelation 19:11-21. Am I clear this is a war in which no one can be neutral, passive, or disengaged? How does it manifest to me this very day? Can I possibly doubt Christ is the victor?

Luke 23:26-38. Verse 34, who do I need to forgive this Christmas? What's holding me back? First step?
