Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 39:1-12. What is there in my way of life that God regards as mere vain show? What does he see me unduly disquieted about (verse 6, KJV)?
Zechariah 1:1-21. What lessons, bitter or sweet, has God memorably taught my family in previous generations (verse 6)? What benefit can I take from that and pass down?
Galatians 4:21-31. What obligations has God laid on me as part of my heritage of spiritual freedom (verse 31)? Action point for today?
Matthew 22:15-22. How well is my church, and the church at large, doing in guiding Christians to render rightly between God and Caesar? How much do the faithful idolize politics or America itself?
