Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 61:1-8. What attributes of God are dramatized in the invitation for me to trust in his wings (verse 4, KJV)? What specific needs of mine can this meet today?
Proverbs 23:1-35. In what way am I tempted to envy sinners (verse 17)? What corrective or protective steps can God help me take?
Titus 1:1-16. What pastors or churchmen and -women do I admire for the way they exemplify verses 5-9? Have I let them know that? Can I pause right now and pray for them?
Matthew 16:24-28. During this Lenten season, what practical steps can I take to live more fully into the "lose and find" promise Jesus gives in verse 25?
