Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 37:1-40. Verse 11, Jesus taught exactly this in the Beatitudes, and as we read the other day, Moses embodied it. What would it look like if God gave me greater meekness today?
Numbers 18:1-32. Verses 21-28, why is giving God a tenth of everything, a tithe, as important today as it was 3,000 years ago? How can I more truly live into this, materially and spiritually?
Acts 15:1-11. How might my church tend to forget that God offers to save all by the grace of Christ, not by legalism? How might I tend to forget that? Action point?
Mark 7:31-37. Why did Jesus take the deaf man aside from the crowd before healing him? What's the spiritual lesson for me as I turn to him for healing today?
