Bible Thursday 9/28: Double Dare

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 86:1-17.  Verse 17 KJV, "Show me a token for good" -- or ESV, "a sign of your favor." What has God clearly shown me about himself that I can lean on when today gets tough?

I Chronicles 7:1-40. Verses 21-23, here amidst the dry census roll we're told a vivid emotional story. Shall I pray God to remind me everyone I meet today has a story, everyone has a heart?

II Corinthians 5:1-11. Verse 7, in what area of my life right now is it most important to walk by faith, not by sight? What would it look like for me to do that today? Prayer point?

Luke 7:36 - 8:2. What can I specifically do to live more in the compassionate, forgiving, Christlike spirit of this story? What can my church do?  Shall I double dare myself?
