Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:49-72. Verse 63 KJV, how can I be more companionable with others who follow Jesus? Could I more readily open spiritual topics in some of my conversations today?
Deuteronomy 27:1-26. Verses 2-4, figuratively, what reminder stones for putting God first have I erected in my home, my family customs, my routine of life?
Hebrews 10:26-31. Verse 29, what behaviors -- or attitudes -- might involve me in trampling on Jesus, profaning his blood, spiting his grace? Do I take these seriously enough? Prayer point?
Matthew 8:5-13. When I pray in Jesus' name, do I share this military man's recognition that his authority exceeds any general who ever commanded? Where do I most need that right now?
