Bible Friday 10/19: Travel Light

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 10 could be paraphrased “wrapped up in themselves.” In what way does this happen to me? What practical steps can I take today to counteract it?

Nehemiah 6:1-19. Verse 3, what’s the lesson here for me, in terms of a divine commission I’m under and a diversion I mustn’t fall for?

Galatians 4:12-20. Verse 19, to whom do I owe gratitude for having “travailed in birth” so that Christ might be formed in me? For whom have I labored to do the same?

Luke 9:1-9. Verse 3, how can I travel lighter in service to the gospel? What should I offload? What’s the benefit? What’s the risk?
