Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 31:1-28. Verse 11, when have I been falsely accused? Verse 12, when have I been rewarded evil for good? How did God show up? What did I learn? Present application?
Nehemiah 13:1-31. Verses 18 and 26, what lapses from faith and righteousness, earlier in sacred history, are recurring among Christians now? How does this get at my church or at me?
James 1:1-11. Verse 3, how is God trying my patience at this point in life? Is it “perfecting” me? Verse 8, in what way do I tend to be double-minded? Action point?
Luke 9:57-62. What excuses have I been making to Jesus? First step to start doing better today?
