Bible Wednesday 11/21: First Love

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:121-144. Verse 135 KJV, if God makes his face shine on me today, how will I know? What specific evidence will I have?

Isaiah 26:1-21. What rivals to God’s dominion over me, must I cast aside today to keep faith with him?

Revelation 2:1-7. Verses 4 and 5, as a follower of Jesus, what should always be my first love? What should be my first works? Have I at all fallen away from those, or could I?

Luke 17:1-10. As this year comes to a close, to whom can I extend complete forgiveness? How can I grow my faith toward mustard-seed size? How can I know myself realistically as an unprofitable servant in the kingdom?
