Bible Tuesday 5/1: Pleasing the Father

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 68:1-35. Verses 5 and 6, how well does my church do in helping families stay intact or reconcile or pick up the pieces? How can I "be Christ" to my family today and this year?

Ezekiel 31:1-18. Verse 2, in what way am I vulnerable to ego and self-love? If I have a blind spot, whom could I ask? What is God's remedy?

I Corinthians 14:12-25. Verses 19 and 23, if Paul had just five words for an unlearned or unbelieving guest at my church, what might they be? Why aren't we that direct all the time?

John 8:21-30. Verse 29 KJV, seeking to do what pleases God is beyond just obeying him. What are some big and small things I can do today that will truly please him?
