Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 52:1-9. Verse 5, what individuals do I find offensive, in my own life or on the public scene? Can I be at peace in trusting God to deal with them as he sees best?
I Samuel 16:1-23. Related, verse 7, when have I misjudged someone by over- or underrating them? What equips me to look deeper at each person as God does? Present application?
Acts 5:12-21. Verse 19, what locked door or prison cell in my life do I need God's angel to throw open for me today?
John 18:19-27. When have I been like Peter and ducked a chance to stand with Jesus? What did it gain me? How can I be more ready and more brave next time?
