Bible Sunday 6/3: Benefactor

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 4, when I'm praying, does it matter to God if I lift my hands, kneel, close my eyes, or speak aloud? What's my best posture to pray in? What most weakens my prayer?

I Samuel 15:1-35. Verse 22, what obedience am I withholding from God, even as I go through the motions of honoring him? What can I do today to start making this right?

Acts 4:32 - 5:11. Related, verse 3, when have I attempted to lie to God? How did it work out? Present application?

John 18:12-18. Verse 15, the exact moment when Peter flips from courage to cowardice. In what way am I like this gifted, flawed, driven man? How am I different? Prayer point?
