Bible Thursday 6/14: Alive

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 70:1-5. Verse 2 KJV, enemies of my soul. The arch-enemy of course is Satan, but what specific influences or channels does he use for my undoing? What is God's remedy?

I Samuel 26:1-25. Verse 11, again as in chapter 24, David spares Saul's life. When has God stayed my hand from doing what seemed humanly justified? What did I learn? Application?

Acts 9:32-43. Verse 40, Peter clears the room (compare Luke 8:54), What can I learn from this about the conditions for effective prayer?

Matthew 22:23-33. Verse 32, how will I think and act differently today if mindful that ours is a God of the living, not of the dead?
