Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 20:1-9. Verses 1-4, petitioning God to hear another person's prayers. What individuals do I put ahead of myself in appealing for divine help?
I Kings 1:1-46. David confirms Solomon to succeed him. Where is the hand of God in all this? Other than as history, what relevance does the story have for us right now?
Acts 19:11-28. Verse 24, idol makers fear economic ruin. What are today's entrenched economic interests and power centers that feel threatened as the Christian faith gains ground?
Mark 4:26-29. Related question, what evidence is there right now of kingdom influence growing and ripening toward harvest? What more can I do to participate in that?
