Bible Sunday 7/15: Smallest Seed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 150:1-6. End of the ancient Hebrew hymnbook. If writing my own personal "Psalm 151" today, how would it go? "God thank you for..." Or "God why is it..." Or "God I really need..."

I Kings 2:1-45. Solomon settles scores for his late father. Where is the law of Moses, Deuteronomy or Leviticus, in these executions? Should the king's word be law?

Acts 19:29-41. Riotous mob quelled by Roman rationality; Jews and Christians spared. Is there an innate sense of right and wrong in all human beings? How does that tell against atheism?

Mark 4:30-32. What form did the mustard seed of God's kingdom take in me? When and how was it sown? How far along is its growth in me now? Where has it yet to fill out?
