Bible Thursday 8/30: Deliverance

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 19 KJV, in what specific ways has God delivered me? What is there about me that delights him? Can I really believe that? How can I thank him today?

I Timothy 1:1-11. Verse 2, of whom am I a son or daughter in the faith? Who has become to me a son or daughter in the faith? How can I affirm this relationship today or some day soon?

Job 6:1-30. When have I felt life made no sense and God was no help? How did it turn out? What did I learn?

Mark 12:35-37. Jesus cites Psalm 110 to show the Messiah will be of more than human descent. Why is this important to me? Why does it scandalize the worldly mind?
