Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:97-120. Verse 101 KJV, what are some evil ways my feet might take today if I'm not alert? What specific guidance from God's word should I follow instead?
II Kings 4:1-44. Four miracles of Elisha. Are my expectations from God sometimes too small? Verses 23 and 26, have I the faith and conviction to say like this woman, no matter what, "It is well" --?
II Peter 2:12-22. Verse 12, riot in the daytime, what has become of shame in our times? Does my church call out sin as fiercely as Peter does here? Verse 22, cycle of sin, have I witnessed this?
Mark 9:30-32. Verse 31, again as in verse 10, disciples can't comprehend Jesus' approaching passion. What might there be right now that he keeps telling me and I keep tuning out?
