Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:73-96. Verse 74, what is there in my Christian way of life that God-fearing people can be glad of? Verse 79, what is there about me that attracts the God-fearing when in need?
Job 26:1-14. Verses 2-4, related question. Reflecting on the week so far, in what specific ways have I served God by serving his people? What specific opportunities will today bring?
II Corinthians 8:16-24. Verse 18 KJV, related again, what would it take for me to become known, like this unnamed man, as a devoted and earnest “gospeler”? (Scholars suggest it was Luke.)
Mark 16:1-8. What can I do to put in practice today the sacrificial love of the cross and the victorious power of the resurrection?
