Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 8, if God keeps me as the apple of his eye, what are some ways I can expect him to show me that as this day goes along?
I Chronicles 23:1-32. Verses 13 and 28, under the new covenant whereby all believers are priests unto God, what duties does he expect of me day by day?
Ephesians 4:17-24. Putting off the old man, putting on the new. How would those who know me best, family and friends, say I’m doing? What’s to be my approach, other than just will-power?
Luke 12:1-7. Related thought, God knows every hair on my head. How have I especially pleased him lately? How have I disappointed him? What have I been holding back, as if unknown to him?
