Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 25:1-22. Verses 4, 9, and 10, for God to teach me his ways and his paths today, exactly how will that happen? What’s expected of me as this occurs?
I Chronicles 26:1-32. Verse 13, casting lots for places under King David. Today how can I begin being more submitted to where God would place me, rather than where I might place myself?
Ephesians 5:8-21. Verses 11 and 14, what darkness and what sleepiness must I beware of today? How does Jesus, light of the world, help me defeat these?
Luke 12:22-34. Verse 31, what does seeking God’s kingdom above all else specifically mean for me, this very day—when I have earthly responsibilities to meet and a living to earn? Action point?
