Bible Sunday 10/20: Beautify the Meek

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 149:1-9. Verse 4 KJV, how would I desire that God might beautify me today? How can I be more meek toward him, in order to receive this?

I Chronicles 25:1-31. David’s musicians for the songs of the Lord. Why does music especially please God? How shall I praise him with song today?

Ephesians 5:1-7. Verse 2, by what actions, toward what persons, can I walk in love today more than I did yesterday?

Luke 12:13-21. Verse 15, covetousness, condemned by Moses in the 10th Commandment and by Paul in Ephesians 5, is condemned here by Jesus. What’s so wrong with it? How does it get at me?
