Bible Wednesday 10/23: Servants

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:25-48. Verse 37 KJV, beholding vanity. What are the main things distracting me today from God and his goodness? How shall I counter that distraction?

I Chronicles 28:1-21. Verse 19, a God-given written pattern. Shouldn’t I regard the Bible just this way, and not as a menu of optional choices? Honestly, which is it most of the time for me?

Ephesians 6:1-9. The Christian family and household. What are some hard things, and some holy things, God has helped me to learn in this sphere of life? Action point for today?

Luke 12:49-53. Fire kindled, peace shattered, when we meet Jesus. Examples in my experience? Understood at my church? Prayer point?
