Bible Saturday 11/16: Prayer Gone Wrong

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 136:1-26. Verse 23 KJV, what has been one of the lowest points of my life? How did God show up? Application for today?

II Chronicles 23:1-21. Jehoiada the priest restores the crown to David’s line. How does today’s separation of church and state, rightly understood, serve God’s purpose? When misunderstood, how does it disserve him? My church’s role?

Revelation 2:8-11. Verse 9, what does Jesus mean by saying the Smyrna Christians are rich despite their poverty? Application for my church and for me personally?

Luke 18:9-14. Verse 13, if praying in this manner today, what specific sins shall I confess to God? If he’s merciful to me, what will that specifically look like in my circumstances?
