Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 66:1-20. Verse 16, what exactly has God done for my soul? Who needs to have me tell them about it today?
II Chronicles 24:1-27. Verse 21, martyrdom of Zechariah the priest (see Luke 11:51). Who are the prophetic voices or institutions calling out the wickedness of our times? What price do they pay? My role?
Revelation 2:12-17. Verse 17, if Jesus gave me a new name, a secret between us, what would I want it to signify about me? What shall I do today to deserve this and prepare for it?
Luke 18:15-17. What keeps me from relating to Jesus in a childlike way? Action point for today?
