Bible Tuesday 12/17: Far from Home

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1119:1-48. Verse 19, in my human situation right now, what feels foreign, unfriendly, unfitting? How does God invite me to be accepted in him, at home in him?

Daniel 9:1-19. How can I make Daniel’s prayer personally applicable today by naming in it myself, my loved ones, my church, and my country?

Revelation 18:1-8. Verse 4, what’s required in these times for all of us who love God to separate ourselves from Babylon?

Luke 23:50-56. Who exemplifies, in the present day, the courage to stand with Jesus despite official hostility? How is the same demanded of me?
