Bible Sunday 12/29: Streets of Gold

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 144:1-15. Verse 4, lately what has tended to make my life feel pointless? Verse 15, lately what has reminded me that living for God makes life worthwhile?

Jonah 2:1-10. What was the most desperate prayer I ever made to God? What was the result?

Revelation 21:9-27. Verse 23, Jesus, Lamb of God, as the ultimate source of light. If I really partake of this today, how can things be different?

Matthew 2:19-23. Joseph, attentive and obedient. If I listen in humble faith, what warnings might I hear from God today?
