Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 22:1-31. Verse 1, Jesus’ prayer on the cross. Entering Holy Week, what attitudes that would make Christ feel forsaken of both human and divine help, do I need to clean out of my heart and mind?
Zechariah 7:1-14. Verses 5, 9, 10, the fast God really wants. Entering Holy Week, what extra care can I and my church extend to the poor and helpless?
Philippians 2:5-11. Verse 8, what humility have I been holding back from God? What obedience have I been holding back from God? Action point?
Matthew 23:37-39. If I and my family and my church all gathered around Jesus like baby chicks under their mother’s wing, what would our benefit be? How would we be better able to serve others?
