Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:73-96. Verse 75, has God ever afflicted me for my own good?
Exodus 24:1-18. Verse 7, what steps can I take to make the Bible more central to my way of life, as well as to the lives of my family, my close friends, and my church?
I Corinthians 6:1-11. Verses 9-11, does my church take sin as seriously as St. Paul takes it here, or as seriously as Christians took it in times past? What is the worst stain that Jesus has cleansed me of? Present application?
John 7:14-24. Verse 17, important in the theology of C.S. Lewis and his mentor, George MacDonald. What has God given me to DO, and I well know it, but I have left it undone or incomplete?
