Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 17 KJV, the Lord thinks upon me. What might be his specific thoughts about me at this moment? What difference can this make in my day?
Numbers 19:1-22. Living now under Jesus’ grace, not Moses’ law, need I still pay constant attention to being clean or unclean before God?
Acts 13:42-52. Verse 45 KJV, envy of the chosen people toward outsiders. Am I susceptible to this? Verse 50 KJV, devout honorable Jews turn on Paul. Could such spiritual pride entrap me?
Mark 10:1-12. Moses’ law again overtaken by Jesus’ grace. Verse 5 KJV, what hardness exists in my own heart today? What is God’s remedy for this?
