Bible Friday 9/13: Come Clean

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-19. Verse 6, what inner cleaning and correction do I need today, in order to be pleasing in God’s sight? Steps to take?

Judges 8:1-35. Verse 23, Gideon declines the kingship. When have I had to wrestle with self-importance, ambition, and pride? How did God show up? Present application?

Colossians 1:19-29. Verse 28 KJV, to whom do I owe special thanks for helping make me more perfect in Christ? For whom can I now play a similar role?

Luke 5:33-39. Verse 39, related question, what am I clinging to that is old and outgrown, holding me back from growth in Jesus Christ? Action point?
