Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 2:1-12. Verses 2-4, in what way do we see the worldly powers rebelling against God and his Christ right now? Verse 12 KJV, for me to obey and “kiss the Son,” what attitudes and actions are involved?
Isaiah 5:1-30. Verses 20-23, related question, how is this inversion of good and evil being proclaimed in America at present? What is my church doing about it? My role?
James 5:7-20. Verses 14 and 15, for what health issue, mine or someone else’s, am I especially praying today? What other strong believers can I enlist to pray with me?
Luke 15:11-32. When have I treated my heavenly Father, and others who deserved better, as the younger son did? When have I treated God and other people as the older son did? Lessons? Present application?
