Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 148:1-14. What are some of God’s attributes and ways, known to me by experience, that I can praise him for all day today?
Isaiah 4:1-6. Verse 4, what purging and washing do the people of God need at present? My role? Verse 5, what form might the reappearing of God’s fiery presence then take? Effect upon me?
James 5:1-6. What current economic injustices should be of concern to me and my church? Why does it matter to God?
Luke 15:8-10. What’s the silver, the precious metal, in a sinner lost to God that Jesus is talking about here? How can I be of use to Jesus today in his diligent rescuing of sinners? Any names occur to me?
