Bible Monday 10/26: Friend of God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 141:1-10. Verses 3 and 4, what kinds of things that displease God am I too easily tempted to speak or write? What tasty morsels of such things from others am I prone to take in? Prayer point?

Nehemiah 13:1-31. Verses 11, 17, 21, 25 KJV, Nehemiah contends for God against the unfaithful. In what way am I called upon for such contention at present? Why is such firmness in the faith rare in these times?

James 2:14-26. Verses 21-24, what attitudes and actions exemplified by Abraham can I undertake today, to qualify as a friend of God?

Luke 14:7-14. Related question, what opportunity can I find right now to relate with other people in the self-offering way Jesus commands here?
