Bible Tuesday 10/27: The Invitation

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 140:1-13. Verse 3, if Satan is the ultimate poisonous snake, what are some of his messages and activities now evident in our country, the church, and my own life? What is God’s antidote?

Isaiah 1:1-31. Verse 3, another animal analogy. If the dumb beasts instinctively know what’s good for them, why do I dabble in evil to my own sorrow? What is God’s remedy?

James 3:1-12. Verses 8-10, reviewing the past few days, when have I used my God-given faculties for both blessing and cursing? Action point for today?

Luke 14:15-24. Verses 18-20, what excuses have I been making to Jesus? What has it cost me? Action point?
