Bible Sunday 12/20: Guests of Honor

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:129-176. Verse 164, did I purposefully come before the Lord seven times yesterday? Or how many? Does it matter?

Isaiah 55:1-13. Verses 1 and 2, this year what have I spiritually “invested in” that has eternal value? What poor spiritual investments have I made? Action point for the new year?

Revelation19:1-10. If the church as a whole is the bride of Christ, joined to the Lamb in marriage, what’s my role in that? What does it practically mean for me at this season or on this day?

Luke 1:5-25. What do Zacharias, Elisabeth, and their son John have to teach me about preparing to receive Jesus into our world, into my heart?
