Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 12:1-8. Verse 8, how does this describe our times? Why did God let it get this bad? What can I do?
Jeremiah 33:1-26. Verse 3, what have I been hesitant to hope for or imagine, as far as blessings God might bestow on me and mine this year? What makes me think he won’t do it?
Romans 14:1-13. Verses 9 and 10, looking over everything I do, spend time on, or care about, what parts of it have I not fully submitted to the Lordship of Christ?
Matthew 17:14-21. Verse 20, if my prayers aren’t moving mountains (or casting out demons), how much smaller than a mustard seed must my faith be? How can I have a bigger faith today than yesterday?
