Bible Friday 3/6: Politics Reimagined

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 11:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, what are some ways the foundations for a righteous human community are eroding at present? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Jeremiah 32:1-44. Verses 17 and 27, is there something I’ve been praying for, yet with an unspoken worry that maybe it’s too hard for God? Does he see this as meek realism or as weak defeatism?

Romans 13:1-14. Love of neighbor as God’s master key for civil government. Where do I fall short of this in following the news and pursuing politics?

Matthew 16:1-12. Verse 4, how does keeping an eye on Jonah bring me closer to Jesus? What’s the cost? What’s the reward?
