Bible Saturday 2/22: Weed Warning

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 122:1-9. Verse 1, what have been my most happy and least happy experiences with being part of a church? Is my yardstick for being glad to go to God’s house more spiritual or circumstantial?

Jeremiah 19:1-15. Pottery symbolism for God’s dire warnings, continued. What warnings should be evident to Christians in America right now? Are we more awake or asleep? What role for me and my church?

Romans 8:18-30. Verse 26, what deep concern or plea of mine today do I want the Holy Spirit to help me bring before God the Father?

Matthew 13:18-23. Verse 22, what are some of the weeds that tend to crowd out Christ’s truth and love from thriving in my heart? What’s a simple daily practice I can use to counter this?
