Bible Sunday 3/22: No More Lies

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 52:1-11. What’s in these verses to guide my prayer that God will make all the negative lying voices in politics, the news, and social media of no effect?

Jeremiah 48:1-17. Woe to Moab. How can a God of love do this to anyone? How can God allow the current pandemic to wreak such havoc? How does he want me to think and act today amidst all this?

I Corinthians 4:1-13. Verses 10-13, what does love of God and neighbor ask of me in this crisis? How much am I willing to be a fool for Christ, to suffer for him?

Matthew 20:17-28. What worldly aspirations and assets is Jesus forcing me to devalue in the pandemic? What shall I put in their place this weekend and from now on?
