Bible Thursday 5/7: No Refuge Elsewhere

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 14:1-7. Verse 1, what form do the worldly fool and his denial that God exists (or is able, or cares) take amid the current pandemic? What is my answer as a Christian?

Ezekiel 27:1-36. Tyre's wealth and prestige swept away. What lesson about true greatness, true worth, may God be teaching me, my family, and my church by way of this crisis?

I Corinthians 10;23-11:1. Verses 31 to 33, what opportunity can I find to practice this demeanor toward others today—inoffensive, agreeable, God-glorifying?

John 6:60-71. Verse 68, what line of least resistance—easier, more appealing—lures believers away from Christ in these times?  What stiffens my determination not to desert him, no matter what?
