Bible Tuesday 4/14: Road to Emmaus

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 7, 13, 21, 29, and 43, when have I repeatedly cycled through remembering God and then forgetting him again? By what spiritual discipline can I do better this time, during and after the pandemic?

Ezekiel 4:1-17. God makes Ezekiel play-act Israel’s impending disaster. What warnings of “repent or else” can we see in the signs of these times? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Luke 24:1-12. Why did God put Mary Magdalene first among the Resurrection witnesses? How does this answer the charge that Christianity doesn’t honor women? My church’s approach to all this?

Luke 24:13-49. Verses 27 and 44, beginning from this Easter, how can I ground my life in the Scriptures more faithfully as Jesus wants me to do?
