Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 55:1-23. Verse 22, what burden am I laboring under today, perhaps from the pandemic, that God wants to take upon his own shoulders and relieve me of it?
Ezekiel 42:1-20. Verse 14, holy garments. How should I “dress” myself spiritually as I come near God to commune with him today? From what should I undress?
Ephesians 2:11-18. Alienation and enmity overcome by the peace of Christ. Allowing for disagreements to persist in any free and secular society, what would such a “peace movement” look like in our divided land?
John 14:12-24. Verses 15, 21, 23, and 24, what are some commands and sayings of Jesus that I can obey today better than I did yesterday?
