Bible Saturday 5/23: The Comforter

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 56:1-13. Verse 4 KJV, what specific fears am I feeling amidst this pandemic? What specific remedies for each of them do I find in the Word of God?

Ezekiel 43:1-27. Verses 13, 18, and 27, if one’s “altar” means the holy place where they meet God and pay him honor, what does that look like in my daily life? Why does it matter? Action point?

Ephesians 2:19-3:7. Verses 20-22, Christ the cornerstone. To be truly built upon him, to what must I more and more devote myself? From what must I more and more turn away?

John 14:25-31. Verse 26 KJV, what are some ways the Covid crisis has me out of my “comfort zone” right now? How can the Holy Spirit, in his office as the Comforter, recenter me and, if need be, redefine that zone?
