Bible Friday 6/12: Kingdom at Hand

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 37 and 38, with America’s conscience aroused against the taking of innocent life, what is my church doing to protect unborn children? My role?

I Samuel 11:1-15. Verses 5-7, helped by the Spirit, Saul meets the moment. What shall I specifically ask the Holy Spirit to do in me, for me, and through me today, that I may actively love God and my neighbor?

Acts 4:23-31. Verses 29-31, what word of God do i particularly need to speak or live out amidst the present turmoil? What would Spirit-led boldness look like as I do that? To whom shall I communicate?

Mark 1:9-15. Verse 15, what are some early evidences of the Kingdom of God getting stronger in my community that I could pray for today? What attitudes and actions on my part will support this?
