Bible Monday 6/8: Hitherto

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 94:1-23. Verses 12-15, how have the events of 2020 been like a hard but necessary learning experience for the people of God? Where is the blessing in all this?

I Samuel 7:1-17. Verse 12 KJV, the old word “hitherto” means always until right now. What are some proofs by which I and my family can invoke God’s unbroken fidelity to us in the past, for encouragement in the present?

Acts 4:1-12. Verse 12, what competing “names” from which to seek value and help, instead of Jesus, does the worldly mind favor these days? Whom can I tell this week that no name rivals His name?

John 19:14-24. Verse 15, how do some religious leaders at present make earthly politics equal or superior to King Jesus? What is my church doing about it? My role?
