Bible Saturday 6/6: Better Times Coming

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 89:1-50. Verse 15 KJV, what sound does God want all of America’s people to hear today from him, regardless of color or tribe? What light does he want all to see? What walk or conduct does he require of all?

I Samuel 5:1-12. Verse 3-5, in this current frenzy over colors and tribes, what false gods are having their day? What’s expected of me and my church in witnessing for the living God so that all those idols are toppled?

Acts 3:11-26. Is it fair to summarize Peter’s words to this excited crowd as—No matter what your question is, the answer is Jesus—? And if so, how does that speak into our country’s travails so far in 2020?

John 19:1-13. Related, in this clash of the raging mob, the earthly authority, and the heavenly king, where do true power and righteousness reside? Application to current headlines? Where in the triangle do I stand?
