Bible Friday 6/5: What Is Truth?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 87:1-7. Verse 5, why does a Zion birth certificate do more to define someone than any other identity marker? How can this inform my prayers for America right now?

I Samuel 4:1-22. Verse 21, Ichabod, “glory departed.“ For any human community, what determines whether God shows them his glory or not? My church‘s role in 2020?

Acts 3:1-10. Verse 6,, what opportunity might I have this summer to give someone nothing second best but the very best thing of all, an encounter with Jesus Christ?

John 18:28–40. Verse 38, how does the notion that truth can’t be known or needn't be known permeate our society? With what consequences? My church‘s role?
