Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 23:1-6. Verse 3 KJV, this activity of the Good Shepherd in restoring my soul—how can I be aware of that today? How does it benefit me or better me?
II Samuel 7:1-29. God reveals his life-plan for David, transcending David’s own plan. As best I can tell, what is God’s life-plan for me? Am I fully in step with it?
Acts 12:12-19. Like Peter himself earlier, the disciples at first can’t believe their prayers for him were answered. What prayers have I been lifting up with some degree of doubt that God will grant them?
Mark 7:14-23. Verses 21 and 22, foulness in the human heart. What’s in my own heart that Jesus wants to clean out and cast far from me, starting today?
