Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 14 KJV, what words or thoughts of mine in the past 24 hours were unacceptable to God? What’s to be done about it? How shall I specifically undertake to do better today?
II Samuel 6:1-23. David brings the ark to Jerusalem. What provision, if any, does the Christian faith make for sacred objects or sacred places? Why does it matter?
Acts 12:5-11. What impossibility, on the order of Peter’s escape from maximum security, am I praying God to accomplish today? Is my motive selfish or unselfish?
Mark 7:1-13. Verse 10, how does the 5th commandment, honoring one’s father and mother, bear upon America’s current situation? What’s my church doing about it? Why is it a spiritual obligation?
