Bible Tuesday 7/14: Humbling of a King

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 32:1-11. Verses 8 and 9, what needed correction or improvement have I been stubborn, obstinate, or unteachable about? What is God’s remedy? Action point?

II Samuel 12:1-31. The prophet calls the king to account in God’s name. Is there any such role for the church and its ministers in America today? Is my church doing its part?

Acts 13:42-52. Verses 45 and 50, why are envy, jealousy, covetousness, entitlement, superiority, and pride of place so offensive to Jesus? How do they play into our current troubles? What’s demanded of me here?

Mark 8:22-26. Verse 23, why does Jesus get the blind man away separately, as he did with the deaf man in 7:33? How can I start taking more “alone time” with the Lord?
